Response Code

A Response Code is a one-letter code used in earlier versions of Signio's Software Development Kit (SDK) before version 2.10. This code is designed to communicate the outcome of a financial transaction, specifically indicating whether a transaction was approved or declined. These codes serve as quick indicators to merchants and payment processors regarding the success or failure of a transaction.

In the context of Signio's payment processing system, each Response Code carries a distinct meaning:

Response Codes are critical in the payment industry as they provide immediate feedback to the merchant about the transaction status, allowing for rapid decision-making and action. For instance, if a transaction is declined, the merchant can promptly inform the customer and seek alternative payment methods.

The shift from using such concise codes to potentially more detailed coding systems in later versions of SDKs reflects the evolving needs of the payment processing industry for more comprehensive and detailed transaction data to improve troubleshooting, customer service, and security measures.
